The Olympus XD picture card is a very small memory card and weighs only 2g. Because its so small and light its one of the most convenient and portable memory cards on the market and may also enable the development of smaller digital cameras.
The name 'XD' was inspired by 'eXtreme digital' suggesting that the card is excellent for storing, recording and transporting digital information.
